Who said pussy cats don’t like getting wet? For us ladies, wetter is better. But sometimes things don’t go our way, and it’s not always that everything is under our control- such as vaginal dryness. Sex should be enjoyable for you, but the pain and discomfort from a dry vagina can ruin all the fun and make your sex life dry (not pun intended). What makes your pussy parched, and how can you douse this creature with enough moisture? Even though solutions such as personal lubricants are easily available, it’s also important to understanding your body and why you’re experiencing vaginal dryness. You gotta know the culprit so you know what you can do about it.

What Causes Vaginal Dryness

Vaginal dryness is often associated with older women, but you can face it at any point in your lifetime. A dry vagina doesn’t always mean that you’re not aroused- don’t be ashamed! There are a number of possible reasons why you got a dry vagina, and it shouldn’t stop you from having amazing sex.

Menopause. Okay fine, vaginal dryness really is more common among older women who have already hit menopause (but that still doesn’t mean that young ladies can’t have it, too). Estrogen plays a big role in your menstrual cycle and fertility- or sexual health in general. The tissue and lining of your vagina is kept thick and wet by your estrogen, and when it declines (which often happens during menopause) so does the moisture and elasticity of your vagina.

Breastfeeding. Hormones decline after giving birth, especially estrogen because it may affect your ability to produce milk for breastfeeding. Estrogen levels and vaginal moisture should go back to normal when you’ve stopped breastfeeding. Do note that breastfeeding is very beneficial for you and your baby, so don’t stop it just for the sake of your vagina.

Diabetes. Sexual issues have troubled women who have diabetes. Having high blood sugar levels for quite some time can affect your blood vessels and nerves, even the ones in your vagina. Limited blood flow and damaged nerves may lead to lack of lubrication and less sensation.

Chemotherapy and Hormonal Therapy. Women who undergo chemotherapy and hormonal therapy, usually for breast cancer and ovarian cancer, experience a sudden loss of estrogen production because of the medications used.

Certain Medications. Contraceptive pills, contraceptive injectables, antidepressants and antihistamines can affect vaginal secretions, which lead to a dry vagina.

Sjogren’s Syndrome. It’s a complex autoimmune disorder that affects the cells responsible for producing moisture in the body. Salivary glands, tear glands, and even the lining of the vagina becomes inflamed.

Stress and Anxiety. When you’re feeling stressed or anxious, your body tends to produce adrenaline and cortisol; these two hormones can disrupt the balance of all the other hormones, including those responsible for your reproductive health. It’s also hard to get aroused when your mind is preoccupied with whatever’s stressing you out.

Lack of Foreplay. You may have a burning desire in you, but your body should also be aroused well to make that hungry pussy salivate. Spend more time for foreplay, and take things slow to build up the excitement.

Feminine Wash, Soap, and Detergents. The vagina is delicate and sensitive, and can be easily irritated by the chemicals found in feminine washes, bath soaps, and laundry detergents.

Dehydration. People always make it sound like drinking more water can instantly solve all of your problems- even vaginal dryness. A well-hydrated body keeps you healthy- even down to your pussy.

What Happens When the Vagina is Too Dry During Sex

Have you tried sliding down a waterslide, minus the water? Ouch- yup, that’s how sex is when you have a dry vagina. It can seriously affect your mood and libido, and your vagina as well.

When the vagina is too dry during sex, friction can damage the lining inside the vagina, and lead to micro-tears. They may be tiny, but they’re the door of the germs to enter your body and possibly cause an infection.

Minor tears are usually no biggie, and will heal on their own in a few days without requiring any treatment or medication; although you might want to avoid having sex for a few days while they’re healing to avoid making them worse. Don’t underestimate these tiny tears, because they can make you a little uncomfortable for a day or two.

How to Solve Vaginal Dryness

Ladies, don’t let yourself settle for painful and uncomfortable sex. A dry vagina shouldn’t be the reason why you’re not having the best sex of your life! There are a few things that you can do to keep your pussy juicy, and your sex life exciting.

Away with the Feminine Wash. Avoid getting any kind of soap or wash inside your vagina. It’s better to keep things natural and to wash your lady bits with clean water to avoid throwing off its pH balance and the naturally-produced “good” bacteria that keeps it healthy.

Stay Hydrated. Got colds? Drink more water. Got a cough? Drink more water. Got fever? Drink more water- we’ve heard “drink more water” countless times as a solution for any sickness we have. If water is treated as if it’s an instant solution for whatever problem, then maybe it can also solve vaginal dryness? Well, it’s not a miracle potion for solving vaginal dryness, but drinking six to eight glasses of water a day is beneficial for your entire body, including your vagina.

Take it Slow. Sometimes it may take a little more time for women to get relaxed and aroused. Forget about all your problems, let loose, and just enjoy the moment. Spend more time on foreplay to build the excitement for the main event!

Lube Up. Lubricants are your next best friend! They can level up your sex life, and douse enough moisture on your pussy for comfortable, and enjoyable sex. A few drops of lube can go a long way; it increases sensation, arousal, and comfort, so say goodbye to dry and painful sex!

There are different types of lube: water-based, silicon-based, and oil-based, but water-based lubricants are the safest and most versatile choice.

Water-based lubricants such as EZ LUBRICATING JELLY are versatile and great for any sexual activity, which is why they’re the most popular choice and widely available in drug stores and convenience stores.

EZ LUBRICATING JELLY is gentle on the skin, on the condoms, on your sheets, and even on your toys. Condoms don’t go brittle and break when used with water-based lubricants, so it’s good to add a few more drops of EZ LUBRICATING JELLY before penetration (that’s additional moisture, AND sensation!). In case you spill some of your lube on your sheets, it will not cause you any problem because it leaves no stain when it evaporates. EZ LUBRICATING JELLY is also great on sex toys because the components of the lubricant cannot damage silicone.

EZ LUBRICATING JELLY is an easy solution for vaginal dryness! Douse that pussy with just a few drops, and you’re all good to go. Keep a packet in your pocket because you’ll never know when it will come in handy! *wink wink*
